A vasectomy is a safe, simple and effective birth control method and is considered painless or nearly painless. A typical vasectomy is done in our office in approximately 30 minutes using local anesthetic or at the Southwest Ohio Ambulatory Surgery Center using general anesthetic. Vasectomy Reversal
A vasectomy reversal ("vasovasostomy") is an outpatient surgical procedure reconnecting the tubes (vas deferens) which were cut during a vasectomy and thus restoring the flow of sperm. The decision to reverse a vasectomy is usually made when a couple decide that they would like to be able to have a baby. About 25,000 men a year decide to have a vasectomy reversal.
